As Men's Captain for 2011/12, I would like to introduce you to Dorking Golf Club. Whether you are a serious single figure handicap golfer or just enjoy a weekend round with like minded friends, then Dorking GC is the place for you.
Dorking GC has a long history of being one of the most friendly and approachable golf clubs in Surrey and our undulating and challenging 9 hole course is a real test for any golfer. All holes have a front nine and back nine tee position which means, in many cases, the view to the green is very different on the back nine of a 18 hole round. Many of the fairways are tree lined and offer little escape to the wayward tee shot. Once on the fairway an accurate approach shot into the green is essential to avoid the bunkers and other hazards that await you. Because of the challenges our golf course presents we often find members handicaps travel very well to other more open courses.
Our clubhouse sits above the 9th/18th green and the veranda provides a panoramic view of the Surrey Hills as golfers approach this hole. We provide excellent catering facilities and have a well stocked bar with great wines and guest ales which means the Clubhouse is often hired for weddings and celebration parties.
As hinted at the beginning of this introduction, Dorking GC prides itself on being one of the most welcoming golf clubs in the area. As well as many competitions and inter club matches being held throughout the year, we also hold regular social events where members and guests can meet to enjoy themselves.
If you are interested in playing a round or perhaps would like to consider one of our membership options please go to the relevant pages of our website for further information. I look forward to welcoming you to our course.
